Jamie Andrusyak (Lee)
Violinist Jamie Andrusyak (Lee) is a versatile performer and teacher from the Chicagoland area. Before moving to the New London area, she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago & the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. In addition to teaching privately for the last 20 years, she has taught group violin classes & lessons at Chicago Public Schools, as a former civic mentor from 2018-2021.
Her passion for teaching stems beyond the violin. As a proficient oboist, she runs Oboe Duck Reeds (www.oboeduck.com), an online woodwinds shop, dedicated to providing good quality, handmade instrument reeds, lessons, and advice to oboe students of all ages and levels.
Jamie has received a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Indiana University (Jaime Laredo, Alexander Kerr), and a master’s degree in performance from Northwestern University (Desiree Ruhstrat). She also holds a performance diploma from Indiana University and has completed all levels of pedagogy courses while serving as an assistant instructor from the String Academy at Indiana University (Mimi Zweig) and the String Academy at Northwestern University (Stacia Spencer).
